Alopecia Awareness Blog Train Freebie Kit

Hi all, I am proud to be taking part in the second round of trains for the Alopecia Awareness Blog Train.
Jenny from Jenny's Designs is hosting this blog train in awareness for her daughter who suffers alopecia areata. I will post her plight below, BUT first, it makes me proud to take part because I also suffer from alopecia areata myself. From a first hand point of view, alopecia is a horrible, debilitating autoimmune disease in which the immune system works against itself and attacks the hair folicles resulting in hair loss. There is NO cure for this. There are 2 main categories, Alopecia Areata where your hair falls out in perfect round patches anywhere on the head or body in any given size, and then Alopecia Totalis where you lose every hair on your entire body. I have suffered this since I was 8 years old, and still do as an adult. Although alopecia doesnt not affect you physically (besides the look of your hair), it does mentally. As a woman, your hair is your life, your hair is YOU and when you lose it, you lose your confidence & you lose self esteem along with every hair that falls out of your head. Some of my patches have grown back within days of falling out, some have taken months to come back and some seem like they will never, ever come back. I have been lucky in that mine have all grown back eventually, but only for another patch to fall out. :(
Anyways, onto Jenny's plight below
I’m Jenny from Jenny’s Designz; a lot of you have known me for years. What you might not know is that my little girl suffers, yes I mean SUFFERS from ALOPECIA AREATA. She has had it since she was 2 years old. It started out as a little tiny bald spot that has gotten bigger and bigger, but she is not totally bald like some of the kids that have it. Her hair comes out in patches; she takes steroid shots that might stop her growth rate, and as of right now there is no cure for it.
They say its genetic (not that me or my ex-hubby knows of any one in our family’s ever having it) she is the only one. She is 6 years old now in school you can only image the worry that I go through because kids can be mean. She is very self-conscious about her hair. So I wanted to spread the word to people that may or may not have heard for the condition. The more people that know the better chance we have at finding a cure for it.
